The Queen has been modelling 2016's new fashion trend for years. The "standoutfit" as described in today's Times newspaper is simply dressing from head to toe in one colour. But would it work for you as well as it does for everyone from Anna Wintour to Victoria Beckham and Kate Middleton?
As a trend it makes you look taller and slimmer - which we are all fans off. And you don't have to be as adventurous as Victoria here in fuschia pink - simply choose one of the season's new neutrals we talked of in our last blog - snorkel blue or iced coffee for example - and you will look stylish and effortless. Take inspiration from our Polyvore board - here we've used examples from Sandwich and Lily & Me to get the look.
Dressing all in the same colour does not require you to match exactly. In fact mixing textures and shades within the same colour often looks better as you don't look as though you have been "trying too hard". And as for that capsule wardrobe choosing a single colour makes packing for that mini-break so much easier. Just watch - all black can make you look like the waiter in your hotel and all white can you make you look like the painter!
