Everyone loves a bargain but how many of us have made a Sale purchase that has gone on to lie in the back of the wardrobe never to be worn?  Let's face it we don't have the best summers in the UK and there are only so many sleeveless dresses you can wear in your fortnights summer holiday in Greece - so how do we stop making mistakes?

Rule 1 Summer Dressing

If you are going away somewhere hot and need to update your look now is the time to snap up a couple of sleeveless tops or a new summer dress - remember though that you are only away for a fortnight and it is easy to hand wash a top or 2 whilst you are gone so don't get carried away and buy too much!

We love this Lily and Me linen-mix top - perfect for keeping cool as temperatures soar but possible to layer up with a cardi when you get home.

Rule 2 Long Sleeves

News - hot of the press - you can wear long sleeves all year round.  The lovely Kim Murray (wife of tennis ace Andy) was seen regularly this year at Wimbledon wearing long sleeves - even on sunny days.  Summer sale purchases with long sleeves will be able to be used for a longer part of the year so look out for bargains.

Rule 3 Lightweight Jackets and Jumpers

In the UK you know that regardless of the temperature by day,  you will need an extra layer when the sun goes down in the evening.  This Sandwich linen mix knit just fits the bill adding a bit of warmth for that evening BBQ.

Rule 4 Update your basics

It's always worth keeping an eye out for a good quality basic.  Perhaps you can trade-up to that higher quality item - when it's on sale it may cost the same as the cheaper brand at full price but it will last longer and potentially be better cut for a more stylish look.  What about this SandwichClothing linen jacket in sand.  The jersey panel at the back gives a much softer stylish look than a traditional denim jacket.

In summary - buy good quality items that you know you will wear more than once and that you can use to layer and you really will have a Sale Bargain.
